Howard University Athletics Department

During my sophomore and junior years at Howard, I worked with the media relations team at the athletics department. In addition to assisting during game day events, filming games and writing game recaps, I worked on features. Below are a couple of articles on Howard’s softball and volleyball programs.

MEEt kalita dennis, hu softball rookie infielder

In her first season as a Bison, Dennis has done more than enough to impress her coaches and teammates. Over each of the last two weeks, she has been awarded the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week, batting .484 during that 10-game span.

These three players are the only seniors on the volleyball team, each having competed on the squad since their freshman year. Their contributions have been mighty to the success of the team, leading the Bison to a 19-10 overall record, including a 9-1 record within the conference this season.

Meet Tamia Dockery, HU Volleyball Co-Captain

Prior to her enrollment, Howard had not won a volleyball championship since 1994. Now the Bison are the reigning MEAC champions.
