Minor League Baseball during the covid-19 Pandemic

Ahead of the 2020 MLB season, the league’s commissioner Rob Manfred announced the season-long cancellation of Minor League Baseball as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result of this decision, players, coaches and staff members employed by these teams were without work, which had a rippling effect on both the small towns and local businesses surrounding these teams, as well as ramifications on MLB.

For my senior capstone project, I wrote a long-form piece reporting on the wide-reaching impact of the canceled season. This project also won an award from NABJ for Best Use of Multimedia for Online Sports Reporting.
