Work as a Curation Editor

At The Washington Post, I curate and edit the homepage and mobile app, with duties that include tweaking and testing headlines, changing cover photos, strategizing the promotion of stories, and adjusting layouts during major news days and breaking news moments. I also work with editors to send breaking news and engagement alerts to our app and Apple News users. Additionally, I work with newsletters and occasionally post breaking news articles on social media during last night shifts.

While I work daily on curating the homepage at The Post, I also spent much of 2024 leading out team in the planning and preparation of the presidential election. I made dozens of layout designs for the homepage for Election Day, mapping out several potential scenarios and coordinating with assignment editors on the stories to expect. Below, I have some of the different layouts we used atop the homepage.

The homepage on the morning of the 2024 Presidential Election.

During the early afternoon, we incorporated a vertical video into our election package.

As polls started to close and results flowed in, we added The Washington Post live show and results pages.

Later in the evening, we moved in a forecast into our page, which was a prediction model from The Washington Post.

When the race was called, we included a video clip, the presidential map and several analytical and live articles into our package.
